I believe that educational success is directly correlated to the ability to fully align with one’s intrinsic motivation. It is, therefore, a teacher’s responsibility to guide students in uncovering this self-determination. A teacher must encourage students to be open to opposing perspectives while simultaneously maintaining the confidence to accept, or challenge, those perspectives. I embrace a Transformational Leadership style as it builds strong relationships and nurtures a growth mindset. This mindset improves a student’s learning by fostering the belief that they can achieve more, and in turn makes them more resilient critical thinkers. It is my intention to embrace this teaching philosophy when working with each of my students.
